Dr. Cynthia Orrego is a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. She received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas-Pan American in 1997, and earned a Doctorate degree from Texas A&M University in 2002. Dr. Orrego completed her internship training at the University of Texas Health Science Center, in the Houston Medical Center and completed her post-doctoral work at Houston Independent School District.
Dr. Orrego specializes in the assessment of Autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, as well as the assessment and treatment of emotional/behavioral issues. She also has experience in assessing individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and learning disabilities. Dr. Orrego has practiced in public school and private clinical settings, and worked as a contract psychologist for the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program. With over 14 years of experience, Dr. Orrego has evaluated children as young as 18 months, all the way through adulthood.
Dr. Orrego uses a family system in which parents are involved in the treatment of their child, including learning positive parenting techniques. Dr. Orrego also uses a cognitive-behavioral theoretical orientation in therapy. Her supportive caring, and warm approach has helped her build excellent rapport and therapeutic work with individual clients and families.
Andrew Hillis is a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed his Master degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Bachelors degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University. Having worked in research, hospital and private practice settings, Andrew has a broad range of experience and passion for helping others.
Through counseling that is goal-oriented and based on a collaborative client-counselor relationship, Andrew aims to address and treat ongoing challenges posed by various diagnoses, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Anxiety disorders. His main focus is working with teenagers, young adults, and adults to improve their anxiety & stress management, communication skills, coping techniques, emotional regulation, executive functioning skills, independent living skills, peer relationships, and social skills. In addition to individual therapy sessions, Andrew also offers group counseling aimed at improving communication and social skills.
