About The Doctor:
Dr. Orrego is a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. She received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas-Pan American in 1997, and earned a Doctorate degree from Texas A&M University in 2002. Dr. Orrego completed her internship training at the University of Texas Health Science Center, in the Houston Medical Center and completed her post-doctoral work at Houston Independent School District.
Dr. Orrego specializes in the assessment of Autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, as well as the assessment and treatment of emotional/behavioral issues. She also has experience in assessing individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and learning disabilities. Dr. Orrego has practiced in public school and private clinical settings, and worked as a contract psychologist for the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program. With over 14 years of experience, Dr. Orrego has evaluated children as young as 18 months, all the way through adulthood.
Dr. Orrego uses a family system in which parents are involved in the treatment of their child, including learning positive parenting techniques. Dr. Orrego also uses a cognitive-behavioral theoretical orientation in therapy. Her supportive caring, and warm approach has helped her build excellent rapport and therapeutic work with individual clients and families.
